OwnPDF / Terms of Use
OwnPDF Terms of Use
Effective date: 24 October 2026 · Version: 1.0
These terms are an agreement between you and Provantic Technologies Private Limited, Prestige Atlanta, Koramangala, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560034, India ("we", "us"), about your use of the OwnPDF app. By using OwnPDF you agree to these terms and confirm you have read our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. What OwnPDF does
OwnPDF lets you read, scan, create and edit PDF files on your phone: merge, split, organise, compress (including to a target size), sign, annotate, fill forms, add page numbers and watermarks, convert pages to images, make scanned pages searchable (OCR), protect files with a password, and keep files in an encrypted Private Files folder. All processing happens on your device.
2. Check results before you rely on them
Compression, form filling, text recognition and conversion are automatic. Check every file before you submit, sign, send or print it. Recognised text can contain mistakes, a compressed file may be less sharp, and a portal may reject a file for its own reasons. We are not responsible for rejected applications, missed deadlines or fees.
3. Not affiliated with any government, bank or exam body
OwnPDF is an independent tool. It is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by any government, ministry, court, bank, exam conducting body or recruitment board. Size presets describe common limits only.
4. Signatures
A signature you draw and place on a PDF in OwnPDF is an image of your signature. It is not, by itself, a certified digital signature or an electronic signature under the Information Technology Act, 2000 or similar laws. Check what your recipient or the law requires.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree to use OwnPDF lawfully and only with documents you have the right to use. You must not use it to forge, alter or falsify documents or signatures, to sign for someone else without their permission, to remove protection from files you are not entitled to open, or to break any law or anyone's rights. You are responsible for your documents and what you do with the results.
6. Your content and passwords
Your documents belong to you. We never receive them and claim no rights over them. Because they are stored only on your phone, keep your own copies of anything important — we cannot recover deleted files, files in Private Files, or files whose password you have forgotten.
7. Free version, ads and Pro
- The core tools are free. The free version shows ads to adults, as explained in the Privacy Policy; users under 18 see no ads.
- Some tools are Pro (for example password lock and removal, OCR, watermark, merging more than 3 files at once, and saving your signature). Adults can use a Pro tool once by choosing to watch one rewarded ad. For users under 18, these tools are free.
- Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play. It is not a subscription and does not renew. It is linked to your Google account and can be restored on other phones signed in to the same account.
- Prices are shown in Google Play before you pay, in your local currency, including any taxes Google applies.
- Refunds follow Google Play's refund policy. You can also write to us and we will help. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
- Our promise: a feature that is free for everyone today will not be moved behind Pro in a later update.
8. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use OwnPDF on devices you own or control, for lawful purposes. You may not copy, modify, sell, rent or reverse-engineer the app except as the law allows. OwnPDF includes open-source components and fonts licensed under their own terms, listed at Settings → Open-source licences.
9. Availability
We may update, change or stop parts of the app. We try to keep it working well but do not promise it will be error-free or work with every PDF or device.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
OwnPDF is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of data on your device, or for a file being rejected by any portal or recipient. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the previous 12 months (or ₹1,000 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live under consumer protection law. Please contact us first — most problems can be solved quickly.
12. Translations and changes
This English version governs if a translation differs. We may update these terms; we will change the effective date and show the new version in the app, and tell you in the app before a material change applies.
13. Contact and grievances
Email provantict@gmail.com. Grievance Officer: Premkumar R — we acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
