LineReady privacy policy
Who we are

What stays on your phone
Your scripts, notes, folders, projects, video takes, captions, rehearsal results and settings are stored only on your phone. We do not run a server that receives them, and the app has no account or sign-in.
Camera and microphone
LineReady uses the camera and microphone only while you record a take, test your microphone or use voice-following. Recordings are saved on your phone and are never uploaded by us.
Voice-following
Voice-following uses your phone’s own on-device speech recogniser (Android 12 or newer with on-device recognition for your language). LineReady starts it only when Android confirms recognition will happen on the phone, so your voice is not sent to a server. Words heard are used only to follow your place in the script and to count filler words for your rehearsal summary; they are not saved.
Captions
Captions are made on your phone. The first time you use them, LineReady downloads a speech model file from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). That download, like any web request, shares your IP address with Hugging Face; no audio, video or text from you is sent.
Floating prompter
The floating window shows your script over other apps. It does not read or record what those apps show. Android asks your permission to display over other apps and to show the “Tap to return” notification.
What you share
When you share a take, captions or a backup, LineReady hands the file to the app you choose (for example WhatsApp, YouTube, Drive or email). What happens next is governed by that app. Saving to your gallery puts the video in your phone’s gallery.
Ads
The free version shows ads through Google AdMob for users aged 18 or over: a banner on the Home and Scripts screens, and short rewarded ads only when you choose one to unlock a single use of a Pro feature. Ads never appear while you read or record. AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID, approximate location (from IP address) and ad interaction data to show and measure ads. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, and where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first. You can turn off personalised ads in Settings › Personalised ads, and change ad privacy choices where shown. Users who say they are under 18 see no ads, and the ads SDK is not started.
Purchases
Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. We never see your payment details. The purchase is checked with Google Play on your phone; we do not receive your name, email or purchase details.
Age question
At first launch we ask your birth year to apply the right ad rules. Only the age group (under 18 or 18+) is kept, on your phone.
Permissions
Camera and microphone (recording, voice-following, microphone test), display over other apps (floating prompter), notifications (floating prompter), biometric unlock (optional app lock), and internet (ads, Google Play and the one-time caption model download). LineReady asks for no contacts or location access. Importing a document uses Android’s file picker, which shares only the file you pick.
Backups
Android cloud backup is turned off for app data. You can make your own encrypted backup file in Settings › Backup and restore. It is locked with a passphrase only you know; we cannot open it or recover it.
Crash log
If the app hits an error it may keep a short crash log on your phone, which you can switch off in Settings. It is never sent automatically; you can choose to email it to us.
Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other laws, you may ask about, correct or erase data relating to you. Because your data is on your phone, you can erase it yourself in Settings › Delete all my data, or by uninstalling the app. See Delete your LineReady data. For anything else, write to the Grievance Officer below.
Children
LineReady is a general tool for creators and presenters and is not directed at children under 13. Users under 18 see no ads.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for material changes, tell you in the app.
